Exhibitions and events featuring Houghton’s art and photography from the 19th – 21st centuries are shown here in chronological order. The earliest is in 1868 when she showed a small selection of her artworks publicly for the first time followed by her famous 1871 solo show in Old Bond Street, London. Unsurprisingly, the majority of her exhibitions have taken place posthumously, beginning with the recently discovered Australian exhibition in 1885 and end with the latest shows happening now, such as the Hayward Touring show: Not Without my Ghosts which is travelling throughout the UK until December 2021. We shall keep you posted by regularly updating this feature of the website as new shows are in the pipeline like the blockbuster exhibition Women in Abstraction in 2021 planned for the Pompidou, Paris before travelling to the Guggenheim, Bilbao.
